- ขออนุญาตเปิดหน้าต่าง Would you mind if I opened the window?
- ขอยืมโทรศัพท์ Could I possibly borrow your phone? หรือ I hate to ask, but could I please borrow your phone?
- ขอยืมถุงมือใส่ไปงาน Do you happen to have a pair of gloves I could borrow for the evening?
- ขอออกจากห้องเรียนก่อนเวลา Would it be alright if I left five minutes early?
- ขอพักค้างที่บ้านเพื่อน Is there any chance that we could stay at your house the night before our flight?
- ขอวางของทิ้ง Would it be OK to leave my bag here?
รูปแบบการใช้
- Would you mind if I did something? (smoked, came a bit early, turned it off)
- Could I possibly do something? (see you tomorrow, come here again, walk home by myself)
- Do you happen to have something I could borrow? (a dress, a bicycle, any laundry detergent)
- Would it be alright if I did something? (gave you a call, went with you, made myself a cup of coffee)
- Is there any chance that I could do something? (call you tomorrow, make an appointment with him, ask you to buy me a new phone)
- Would it be OK to do something? (close the windows, cancel the appointment, show him your pictures)
แต่ถ้าเราเป็นฝ่ายถูกขอบ้าง เราจะตอบว่าอย่างไรดีนะ
ได้เลย ไม่มีปัญหา
- Yes, of course.
- Go ahead.
- That's fine.
หรือถ้าคำขอนั้นไม่โอเคสำหรับคุณ ลองปฎิเสธแบบนี้ดูก็ได้นะคะ
- I'd rather you didn't, if you don't mind.
- I'd prefer it if you asked somebody else.
- If there's someone else you can ask, I'd be grateful.
